HICKMAN, Joyce A. – Of Flint, age 85, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017
at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 1-4 and 6- 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan on January 2, 1932, the daughter of the late David and Linda (Scobey) LaFerney.
She married Billie James Hickman in 1950.
She was a member of the Fenton Moose Lodge. Joyce loved sports and was a huge Spartan and Tigers fan.
Surviving are children, Cathy Gail Hickman of Flushing, Ricky James Hickman of Flint, Dena Lee Barclae of Grand Blanc and Amy Joyce (Doug) Vaughn of Flushing;
Grandchildren, Chris, Katie, Callie, Jenny, Alicia, Alicin, David, Jason, Chance, Billy, Kaitlyn, Ericka and Hailey;
14 great-grandchildren;
sister, Barb Scheuerman of Flint;
brothers, William LaFerney of Flint,
David and wife Jackie LaFerney of Tennessee;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie James; granddaughter, Niki; great-granddaughter, Shayla and sister, Erma Spence.
