COUTURIER, Shirley Ann – age 79, passed away peacefully, on June 28, 2018 after living a very warm and loving life. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Shirley married Joseph Wayne Couturier on February 9, 1960. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Wayne Couturier who she was happily married to for 58 years. Shirley’s memory lives on with her four children and three grandchildren; daughter, Colleen Marie Rosario and son-in-law, Ken Eliazar Rosario; daughter, Elaine Ann Couturier; sons, Joseph Wayne Couturier, Jr. and Steven James Couturier; grandchildren, Jeanine Angelica Urbano, Nikolas Eliazer Rosario and Natalie Angelina Rosario.
Shirley lived an active and fun life. She was an associate member of UAW Chapter #659, a member of the UAW Region 1D Travel Club, the Yard and Garden Club and the Genesee Star Quilter’s Guild. Shirley was an experienced sewer. She made quilts for needy children. Shirley won numerous ribbons at the Genesee County Fair for embroidery, crocheting and quilt making. Shirley loved to garden, growing flowers and vegetables. She took pleasure in canning vegetables and creating delicious jams.
