HONECK, Albert Lewis Jr. -- Age 81, of Lennon, died March 17, 2016. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday March 22 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday and 2-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a Scripture service will be held at 7 PM followed by a K of C rosary. Visitation will also be held at the church from 10 AM until time of mass.
Albert was born February 1, 1935 in Flint the son of Albert Lewis Sr. and Pearl (Topping) Honeck. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1953. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Mary Ann Kubik on June 30, 1956 in Swartz Creek. He resided in Lennon for 60 years. He was retired from GM in 1991 with 37 years of service as a Machine repairer and was a member of UAW Local 659. Albert was a member of the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as an usher. He was a member of the Swartz Creek Friendship Club and the Czech Singing Club. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Ann; children, Kenneth Honeck of New York, Joseph (Becky) Honeck of Lennon; brother William (Florence) Honeck; sisters, Joanne (Henry) Stoklas, Mildred Barringer, Iyla Jean ( James) Waters; 2 granddaughters, Mary Scheitler of Lennon, Kelly Jo Scheitler of St. John; grandson, Alexander Honeck of Lennon; great-grandchildren, Rosie, Julia, and Roman; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine Pintoski; sisters, Jean and Doris; brother Karl; and great grandson, Layne.
