HARTNER, William N. – Of Swartz Creek, age 72, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Father Robert F. Copeland officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Reverence Hospice.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hartner will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.
William was born in Flint, Michigan on December 24, 1942, son of the late Wilfred Hartner and Neva and Robert (Neely) Gainey.
He married Kathleen Glasco on April 4, 1964 in Grand Blanc.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring John Deere tractors.
Mr. Hartner retired from Genesee County Road Commission.
Surviving are wife, Kathleen;
two children, Tamra (Robert) Grover of Swartz Creek,
Amy (Michael) Furey of Ann Arbor;
grandchildren, Stephen Furey, Jessica Tytar, Bryan (Amy) Tytar, Daniel (Lauren) Furey, Nathan (Brad) Furey and Thomas Furey;
great-grandchildren, Alexa Garth and Sebastian Learman;
step-grandchild, Mato Grover;
step-great-grandchildren, Robbie, Gage and Hannah Grover.
