JOHNSON, Maxine H. - age 87, of Fenton, went to her Eternal Home on July 14, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1025 Main St., Fenton with Rev. Dean Dumbrille officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday at the church. Interment will be held 1:30 PM Monday, July 23, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church. Maxine was born March 10, 1931 in La Valle, WI, the daughter of Ira and Elsie (Westfahl) Fisher. She married Richard E. Johnson on September 8, 1956 in Beloit, WI. Maxine was born and raised in Wisconsin moving to Michigan in 1972. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, The Ladies Guild of Trinity Lutheran Church, Laborers for Christ helping to build 13 new churches and church additions for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and volunteered for F.A.R.R. Maxine loved children and animals. She was called "Dr. Johnson" by the neighborhood kids because she helped nurse many animals back to health. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her number one priority. Maxine also enjoyed traveling and visited most of the Western States including Alaska and Hawaii. Surviving are: husband, Richard; four children, Hope Guzinski of South Milwaukee, WI, Richard Johnson of Pontiac, Gayle (Jim) Wagner of Linden, and Judith Wilson of Hazel Park and son-in-law, Gary Wilson; seven grandchildren, Michael Sobczak, James Guzinski, Jason Guzinski, Stephanie Wilson, Justen Wilson, Alex Wagner and Nathan Wagner; two great-grandchildren, Justin Sobczak and Aubrie Kelly. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Joan Mittelstaedt and son-in-law, Gary Guzinski.
