WOODS, Ruth A. – of Flint, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at McLaren-Flint. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Committal will take place Friday, December 7, 2012 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the American Heart Association.
Ruth was born in Dexter, MO on July 6, 1929, daughter of the late Benjamin and Emmer (Lane) McCormick. Ruth McCormick married Joseph Edward Woods Jr. on March 20, 1949. Joseph preceded her in death on December 17, 2003. Ruth loved to help those in need. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, Thomas M. Woods, Christopher B. Woods and JoEllen Woods; grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Woods, Jennifer A. Woods and Tommy J. Woods; great-grandchildren, Michael L. Preston II and Breanna N. Preston; sister, Dorothy (Alfred) Coleman and brother, Lloyd (Beverly) McCormick.
