THOMAS, Bernard Eugene, Sr. - Age 91, of Fenton, died Saturday, August 5, 2017. Service will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Pastor Donald Neuville officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Reverence Hospice.
Bernard was born October 17, 1925 the son of Leonard and Gertrude (Phelps) Thomas. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He married Rosemary Smallwood April 3, 1948 in Flint. He had resided in the Fenton area his entire life. Bernard retired in 1991 from GM Chevrolet Metal Fab. in Skilled Trades.
Surviving are: his wife of 69 years, Rosemary; children, Bernard Eugene (Elaine) Thomas, Jr. of Linden, Richard (Linda) Thomas of Linden, and Terry Walsh of Fenton; grandchildren, Joceline (John) Fish, Rickie (Char Smith) Thomas, Jennifer (Lee) Dodds, Scott Thomas, Brian (Toni) Thomas, Brent (Ginger) Thomas, Fred (Alisha Mitchell) Walsh; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Ilah Romanoski; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Fred Walsh. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Reverence Hospice. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
