CHURCH, Dennis M. - Of Flint, age 69, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A private service will be held.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County or the Shriners Research Hospital.
Dennis was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 5, 1948, the son of the late Melvin and Shirley (DiNatle) Church.
On March 17, 1979 he married Lynda in Flint.
He was a member of the Masons and the Shriners and was a Circus Shrine Clown, Dimples.
Dennis proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid hunter, especially enjoyed when hunting at Whispering Pines in the Upper Peninsula. Dennis enjoyed being a loving and devoted grandfather.
He was employed at GM in Security and retired from Kettering University Safety Department.
Surviving are wife, Lynda;
daughter, Amanda (Robert) Solwold and their twins, Ella and Sophia Solwold;
son, Dennis Jr. (Trisha) Church and their children, Niki and Justin Church;
sisters, Debbie Donahue, Donna Church and Darlene Panico, all of California;
daughter, Amy and son, Todd, both from out of state;
several nieces and nephews.
Special friends, Jim Besant and Harold Schneider and Dennis’ dogs, Skippy and Baby Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Church.
