GREGORY, Marie Doris - Age 83, died peacefully at her home on April 4, 2012.
She was born Marie Doris Arsenault in South Hadley, Massachusetts, on August 16, 1928, to Pascale Arsenault and Angeline Chenette Arsenault.
While in high school during World War II, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. After graduation, she studied for a career in nursing. Once a registered nurse, she decided to see the country and landed at Hurley Hospital in Flint.
She married Ernest Gregory in 1951 and raised three sons and one daughter. A devout Catholic, Marie was very active in activities and groups at Holy Redeemer parish, including teaching catechism and holding several positions within the Legion of Mary. Marie was also a Eucharistic Minister, as well as a member of the Lady of Fatima Guild, the Council of Catholic Women, Daughters of Isabella, and Committed Adorers.
She is preceded in death by sons, David and Jim; husband, Ernie; sister Anita; brothers, Fernand and Donald.
She is survived by son, Gary Gregory; daughter, Michele Gregory; granddaughter, Laura Gregory; sisters, Priscilla Seifert and Angela Gray.
Marie was a wonderful, giving person and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Gregory will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Redeemer Health and Wellness Ministry, c/o Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI, 48529.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
