Rosemary G. Soderman, age 91 of Saginaw formerly of Houghton Lake passed away on Sat. Aug. 1, 2015 at Gross Assisted Living in Clio with her family by her side.
Rosemary was born on March 1, 1924 in Flint to Vivian “Butch” & Lenore (Kerry) Cornell. She married Einar V. Soderman on Oct. 11, 1941 in Houghton Lake. Rosemary lived in the Houghton Lake area for many years before moving to Midland and then later to Saginaw. She worked in Midland for JC Penny and later retired. She was a member of the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church and she was an outstanding cook and baker, she was a beautiful seamstress and a wonderful caregiver for anyone that was in need.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter; Gail (Dick) Fabian of Burt, sons; Vernon (Ruthann) Soderman of Saginaw, Michael (Michele) Soderman of Jeffersonton, VA., daughter-in-law; Virginia Soderman of Prudenville, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, brother; Dick (Dotty) Cornell of Zephyrhills, FL., and sister; Darlene Guernsey of Monroe, special sister-in-law; Jean Cornell of Houghton Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Einar, son Ted, Brother William and Sisters Margaret, Vivian, Naomi and Maxine.
Visitation is scheduled for Wed. Aug. 5 at Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel from 3-7 pm. The funeral will take place on Thur. Aug. 6 at the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church at 11 am with Rev. Bryan Thompson to officiate. Burial will take place at the Roscommon Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church located at 5599 W. Houghton Lake Dr., Houghton Lake, MI. 48629 or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
