Janice Olsen, age 74, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, Friday, August 30, 2024 due to kidney failure. Jan was the daughter of Lyman and Bessie (Norman) Wilburn Sr. She married Linard David Olsen on February 6, 1970. They have one son, Corey Severin Olsen, who survives them. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Flushing. Pastor Kevin Thoman will be officiating the service.
Jan enjoyed walking on the beaches of Marco Island, Florida, cheerleading competitions with her nieces, hockey games with her nephew and being around friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice House of Shiawassee County, 2005 Copas Road, Owosso, Michigan. She is survived by her son, Corey; grandchildren: Molly, Christopher, Emily Olsen; sisters: Nadine (David) Roper, Kennesaw, Georgia, Joyce Gilliam (Jerry Howart) of Swartz Creek, Jeanette Beck of Montrose, and Lyman Wilburn Jr. of Guam; many cousins, nieces, nephews; and friends, Linda and Mike North, Paula May, Bob and John Roth, Ginger Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband Linard; parents, Lyman and Bessie Wilburn Sr.; in-laws, Severin and Lillian (Baier) Olsen; sister, Shirley (Wilburn) Spencer; daughter-in-law, Sarah (West) Olsen.
A visitation for Jan will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Reigle Funeral Home/Sunset Chapel, 5501 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, Michigan. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Reigle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris Michigan. |
