BARTLETT, Ralph – of Grand Blanc, age 89, passed away February 22, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Military Honors will be held at 6:15 PM Thursday followed by a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree Council #695 and 4th degree Council #0510 will follow the Scripture Service. Cremation will take place following visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic School.
Ralph was born in Petoskey, MI on October 11, 1924. He married Velma Masteau on October 16, 1948 and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2011. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #695, American Legion, the 40 & 8, Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, St. Pius X Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Guild. His hobbies included golf, bowling and boating. Ralph was an excellent craftsman and an all-around fix it man. He graduated from GMI and retired at GM as a Machine Repairman at Buick City.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Kathy Bartlett; beloved granddaughter, Jennifer (Jon Sargent) Jackson; great-granddaughter, Whitney “Tootie” Sargent; sisters-in-law, Diane (Ron) Trafas and Ireta (Richard) Persing; close friends, Ralph and Eva Rhoades; many nieces and nephews; his constant companions the family dogs, Cai and Italia. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Jim and Bill DeVernay.
