WESTWOOD (Henry), Janice - of Montrose, age 72, died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Montrose United Methodist Church, 158 E. State Street, Montrose. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted under the direction of American Legion Post# 367. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Wednesday from 3PM until 8PM and at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose Historical Museum.
Janice was born June 16, 1945 in Flint, Michigan to the late Warren and Mary (Marshall) Henry. She was the first class to graduate from Hill McCloy High School in 1963. Janice attended University of Michigan Flint. She has been with her devoted significant other, Jerry Rappuhn for 27 years. Janice served in the United States Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard for 10 years. She was a significant volunteer at the Montrose Historical Museum. Janice also wrote for the Memory Lane Gazette for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Montrose United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Post# 367 and the Montrose Historical Society. Janice enjoyed writing, genealogy, and conducting interviews for historical research of the old Montrose. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Devoted significant other, Jerry Rappuhn; Children: Mark Schneider, Wendy (Joseph Gray) Wiitala, and Joanna (Gary) Kroll; Grandchildren: Mitchell Schneider, Maryssa (Alex) Spalding, Sergei Gray, Christopher Gray, Nicholas Kroll, and Jack Kroll; Great grandson, Holden Isley, and sister, Nancy (Peter) Chargo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at McLaren Hospice. |
