KELLY, ELLEN PATRICIA (Pat) died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the age of 82 at home, in the company and care of her family. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, February, 12, 2018 at the Holy Family Catholic Church 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Monsignor Jerry Vincke officiating. Interment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, February 11, 2018 with a Rosary being Prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, MI. Pat is survived by her four children: Ozz (Gina) of Kirkland, WA; Katie of Grand Blanc; Mike (Jamie) of Maple City, MI; and Margaret (Tim) Rasberry of Davison; eight grandchildren: Anna Kelly, Colleen LaPorta, Will Kelly, Sara Eby, Zach Masters, Madeline, Kate, and Erin Rasberry, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings: Katie (Mac) Norris, Ed (Lois) Abbott, Betty Abbott, Mike (Kathy) Abbott; sisters-in-law: Charlene (Mike) Farella, Sheila (Ken) Johnson, and many nieces and nephews, also much beloved. Pat was born in Flint, MI on July 8, 1935 to Joe and Frances (Martin) Abbott. She graduated from St Matthew high school in 1953 and worked many of those years at her family’s business, Abbott’s Meat. She married Bill Kelly at St. Matthew church on June 10, 1957 and remained in Flint, where they raised their four children. After raising her children, Pat worked in the Pre-K program for the Flint Community Schools; a job she loved and to which she was much devoted. After retiring from the school system she went to work for Hudson’s/Macy’s, which she also enjoyed. After this she volunteered at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. Pat loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and going up north. She was a life-long practicing Catholic, in later years belonging to Holy Family parish in Grand Blanc. Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, Bill. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Pat during her final illness.
