Povinelli, Valentino of Flushing, age 77, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate His remains will rest in Carisolo, Italy. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church or The Marco’s Way Tribute Fund in support of SickKids Foundation.
Valentino was born on February 14, 1937, in Rotterdam, Holland. He moved from Holland at the age of four years old to Carisolo, Italy. He worked in the knife sharpening business for 50 years and serviced many restaurants and butcher shops in Genesee County. He was very thankful for the businesses and community he lived in.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annamaria; sons, Lawrence (Susan) Povinelli, Alfred (Amy) Povinelli, and Edward (Maragota) Povinelli; grandkids, Kristina (Travis) Yaklin, Jennifer (Brett) Taylor, Crystal (Greg) Osmer, Antonio Povinelli, Stephenie (Michael) Pingel, Michelle (Benjamin) Schaffer, Megan Freiburger, Enrico Povinelli, Mati and Helinka Povinelli; great-grandchildren, Jayde and Braxen Taylor and one more expected in October. |
