Cecelia Hewitt, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. She was born March 24, 1932 in Pinconning, Michigan to Edward and Catherine (Gerhardt) Haranda. Ceil was a graduate of Pinconning High School. She married Leland J Hewitt on January 24, 1953. They primarily resided in Standish, Michigan. Ceil retired from the Midland County Health Department where she was a vision and hearing technician. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, polka music, playing cards, and visiting the casinos. In addition, Ceil valued time with her family, especially during the holidays.
Cecelia is survived by her seven children, Susan Hewitt, Robert (Marie) Hewitt, David (Beth) Hewitt, Diane (Edward) Moore, Elizabeth Mondoux, Sandra Hewitt and Mary Hewitt; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rosalia Belcher and Marian (Norman) Charters; her brothers, James Haranda and Joseph Haranda. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland J Hewitt; her father, Edward Haranda; her mother, Catherine Haranda; her brothers, George Haranda and Thomas Haranda.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday. May 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, Standish, Michigan with the Rev. Fr. David Parsch officiating and interment in Pine River Cemetery Standish, Michigan. The family will greet family and friends at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church Saturday, May 4th, 9:00 am till time of Mass at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home -STANDISH CHAPEL, Standish, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to the American Lung Association. Special thanks to her physician, Ravikumar Peddireddy for his compassion and excellent care; and the staff at Grand Blanc Fields Assisted Living.
