FLORIA, Philip. – of Clio, age 85, died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Medilodge of Montrose. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery in Flint with full military honors. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 1PM until 8PM, and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A scripture service will be held at 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center of Flint.
Philip was born July 16, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to the late Anthony and Rose (Barbera) Floria. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1952. Philip married Suzanne G. Sweron on August 24, 1957 in Flint. Mr. Floria is a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from Chevrolet Truck & Bus in 1993 with 21 years of service. Philip was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio where he also served as an usher. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy. Philip loved woodworking and built beautiful oak furniture for several years. He also loved puzzles.
Surviving are: Wife, Suzanne Floria; Daughter, Kathyrn (Marco) Pazienza; Sons: Anthony Floria, and Robert (Julie) Floria; Grandchildren: Joshua (Shawnal), Stephanie, Mariah, Nickole, and Spencer; Great grandchildren: Manuel, Vincent, Anthony, Clae, Kylie, Brody, Parker, Aiden, and Ashlynn; Brother, Anthony (Debbie) Floria; Sister, Gina (Larry) Lounds; Sister in law, Nicole Binelli; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Philip was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Floria, and sister in law, Mary Floria. The family would like to extend a special thank you to sister in law, Nicole Binelli for always being there, offering love and support and going above and beyond, not only for Philip, but the entire family.
