BENSON, Peggy Ann (Hall) - age 83, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Oaks at Woodfield. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Sarah LaRose officiating. Visitation will be held 10 AM - 12 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Peggy was born May 2, 1934 in Newport, AR, the daughter of Earl and Beatrice (Folks) Hall. She was a 1952 graduate of Bentley High School where she was a well known athlete playing basketball and softball. Peggy married Harold Benson on April 13, 1973. She was the ultimate homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, ironing and lived to make her husband and family happy. Peggy loved her family and children. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and the outdoors. Surviving are: her husband of 44 years, Harold Benson; daughter, Susan and husband, Glen Slater; two granddaughters, Amy (Jason) Morse and Melissa (James) Patterson; four great grandchildren, Jonathon and Charles Patterson and Rylee and Tyler Morse; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Robert John Roat; sister, Opal Hall; five brothers, Earl, Burrell, William, Robert and Kenneth Hall. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Oaks at Woodfield and Residential Hospice for their love and care.
