Selma Elaine Bono (Kleist) – of Grand Blanc (formerly of Warren & Detroit, MI), age 98, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went peacefully in her sleep to meet Jesus on Friday, June 15, 2018. Selma was born in Pommen, Germany on September 4, 1919, the daughter of Paul and Ida (Seelz) Kleist. Her mother & five siblings immigrated to the USA to meet up with her father who was already working in Detroit, MI to start a new life as Proud Americans in 1925. Selma was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Frank Bono, her son Peter Bono & his wife June, and by her Sisters Erna, Marie, Hilda & Brother Paul and five other siblings that died in Germany prior to coming to America. Selma is survived by her daughter Marcia Frederick. Her granddaughter Connie Green & husband Chris their children Mikayla & Adam. Granddaughter Kimberly St. Onge& daughter Samantha. Granddaughter Lorri Boguslawski & husband Vince their children Joshua and Alaina. Her Granddaughters Leslie Bono & Vanessa Bono and Grandson Scott Bono. Everyone is invited to attend Selma’s Memorial Gathering from 11am-Noon on Saturday, June 23rd at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd, Grand Blanc, MI followed by a Memorial Service beginning at Noon with a luncheon immediately following in Hein’s Hall at Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National MS Society at https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate |
