WELLS, Frederic Michael. - of Durand, age 75, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his residence in Florida. Fred was born in Durand, Michigan on June 17, 1941 to the late Robert and Jean (Harnack) Wells. He graduated in 1959 and started his career at General Motors - retiring 43 years later as Superintendent at the Flint Metal Center. Fred married Lynne Leneschmidt in 1963. Together, they had 2 children: Robyn (John) of Fenton, and Chad (fiancée Michele) of South Carolina.
Fred adored his wife and children as well as his grandchildren. He was the best "Bumpa" to his beloved grandchildren: Bradley Peterson, David Peterson, Lexis Ellingson, and Ronnie Wells. He was an inspiration to all of them and they were the highlight of his life. Fred loved the game of golf. He and Lynne hosted 3 or 4 annual golf outings for friends and family. Fred was so thankful for his dear friends and he will be missed by so many in Michigan and Florida.
Fred is survived by his wife and children and also his brother, Robert (Louise) Wells; Step-brother, Tony (Katie) Paradowski; Special sister in law, Pam Wells. Fred was also preceded in death by his brother, David Wells. A celebration of Fred's life is being planned for a later date in May. Arrangements will be announced.
