TAGGART, Patrick “Jim” “PJ” – Of Flushing, age 67, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at University Hospitals.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the John Mikulich Fund at Bentley High School.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Patrick was born in Flint, Michigan on July 9, 1946 and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life.
He graduated from Bentley High School in 1964. He lettered in Baseball, Basketball and Football. Patrick coached Basketball at Bentley.
On October 14, 2006 he married Diane Yanta.
He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, Michigan Football, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.
Mr. Taggart was a Deputy at Genesee County Sheriff Department and Chief of Security at Buick Motor Division, retiring from Delphi after six years. He also worked for Mid-Michigan Diagnostics after retirement.
Surviving are wife, Diane;
two children, Jim, Jr. (Kim) and Keley;
two grandchildren, Kaleigh and Kourtney;
sister, Carol (Dave) Harrison and
brother, William, Sr. (Carol) Taggart;
Aunt, Bonnie York;
father and mother-in-law, Simon and Barbara Yanta;
many nieces, nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law;
beloved pets, Kennedy, Mickey and Dusty.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Guinivere and step-daughter, Anita Yanta.
