RAYMENT, Francis – of Flint, age 93, passed away July 18, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Centers – Briarwood. A Funeral Service followed by Military Honors under the auspices of the Davison VFW Post #4087 will be held 1 PM Friday, July 22, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Doug Connelly officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday and 12-1 PM on Friday. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison Masonic Lodge #236 will be held at 7 PM on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church.
Francis was born in Imlay City, MI on October 26, 1922, son of the late Ezra and Irene (Carter) Rayment. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Francis married Wanda Card and she preceded him in death in 1970. He married Helen Summers and she preceded him in death. Francis was member of the Davison Masonic Lodge #236 F&AM and a Shrine Circus Clown for many years and was known as “Gabby”. He loved snowmobiling and four wheeling. Francis rode a motorcycle from a teenager to age 78 and was a member of the Gold Wing Club. Francis retired from Buick in 1974 after 34 years of service. He also worked part time for the Burton Twp. Police Department for 9 years and Sand Lake Road patrol for several years.
Francis is survived by his son, Gary (Shelly) Rayment; daughters, Dianna (Joe) Suski and Bonnie Rayment; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy), Craig (Ashley) and Charles VanLandeghem II; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Eldon (Yvonne) Card; sister-in-law, Mary Boegner. He was preceded in death by his brother, William and sister-in-law, Virginia.
