NAGY, Julius Jr. – of Burton, age 85, passed away September 19, 2014 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Heritage United Church of Christ, 7074 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. James Offrink officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday and 2-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 7 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Church of Christ, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of one’s choice.
Julius was born in Flint, MI on June 16, 1929, son of the late Julius Sr. and Thelma (Sabo) Nagy, one of 14 children. He married Priscilla Torok at the Hungarian Reformed Church (Heritage Church) on October 8, 1949. Julius was a proud Pattern Maker and Union Representative before retiring from the Buick Pattern Shop in 1980 with 33 years of service. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed the friendship of the Deer Beer Club, family and friends at the Alger Hunting Camp for more than 60 years. Julius was a member of the Elf Khurafah Shrine Temple, Bay City Consistory and life member of the NRA. He was a big sports fan and really enjoyed following the Michigan State Spartans, bowling and golf was also a big deal along with his TV time. Julius played in a golf league at Genesee Hills for more than 50 years. He was a lifetime member of Heritage Church as well as a 32nd Degree Mason of the Flint Lodge #23 and lifetime member.
Julius is survived by his wife, Priscilla; sons, Julius Stephen and William (Diana) Nagy; granddaughters, Shannon (Michael) Fray and Ashley Nagy; great-grandchildren, Camden, Cason and Breslyn Fray; brothers, Robert Nagy and John (Lureen) Nagy; sisters, Barbara (Edd) Loomis and Carol (Russel) Lesor; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, David Scott; siblings, Julius Charles, Thelma Kida, Edith Kazmier, Clara Ruchala, Eleanor Wcisel, Jean Koch, Jerry Nagy, Chuck Nagy and Margie.
