MCFADDEN, Ms. Linda Sue "Suzy Q" - age 64, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with memorial service commencing at 11 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Saturday. Ms. McFadden will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday.
Ms. Linda “Suzy Q” McFadden was born June 4, 1950 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Cotton and Valree McFadden. She attended Riverside Church and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School. Linda retired from Goodwill Industries of Flint Averill Street. She enjoyed collecting fine crystals, listening to James Brown, one of her all-time favorite artists. She also enjoyed walking in the park, shopping at her favorite store, Meijer and Kmart and putting things in the layaway every chance she got. Linda loved spending time with her granddaughters, playing with her great-granddaughter that brought her son much joy.
Ms. Linda “Suzy Q” McFadden leaves to cherish her memory: Aretha (Granvil) Ray of Lansing, MI and Charisse (Emara) Burns of Flint; grandchildren, Shava Elexis Hill of Indianapolis, IN, Angel Brooks and Arianna Ray, both of Lansing, MI; great-grandchildren, Naveena Simmons of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters, Bertha (Louis) Ferguson of Grand Blanc, MI and Carrie Mance (Al Jackson) of Flint; 2 brothers, David McFadden of Las Vegas, MI and Clarence (Sandra) McFadden of Los Angeles, CA; 5 nieces, Linda Lou Marshall of Atlanta, GA, Valrie Walton of Grand Blanc, MI, Wanda Mance, Xavier Taylor and Shawn McFadden, all of Flint; 4 nephews, Cedric Lamar Ferguson of Grand Blanc, MI, Samuel Darrell Marshall, Aldric Jackson and Agustus “June” Mance, all of Flint; special son-in-law, Tracy Hill of Indianapolis, IN; 10 aunts; 8 uncles; 20 cousins; a host other relatives and friends including special friends, Violet, Dora, “Dru Dru” and Alvin Warford, all of Flint.
Ms. McFadden was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda McFadden 1995; parents, father, Cotton McFadden 2001, mother, Valree McFadden 1998; great-grandmother, Constance Allen 2006.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Flint Police Department, services from the Coroner’s Office and to all the staff of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.
