Ruth “Ruthie” Hazel Cushman of Davison formerly of Burton, age 90, died Friday Aug. 7, 2020 at Ascension-Genesys. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. No public services are being held. Those desiring may make contributions in Ruthie’s memory to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Ruth was born in New Orleans Louisiana on October 25, 1929 the daughter of the late George & Gertrude (McGary) Toland and has resided in Davison since 1970, spending her early years in Burton. She was joined in marriage to Donald Cushman in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1964. Ruth was a member of Davison Eagles Auxiliary 3589 and Davison VFW Auxiliary 4087. Ruthie had been employed at the Davison Hotel until her retirement.
Surviving is son Ronald (Pam) Cushman, daughters; Connie (Hugh) Hosler and Karen Cushman. She also leaves her seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, loving cat “Baby” and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by four sisters, and one brother.
