Woodrow, James P. – of Montrose, age 93, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Grandson, Chris Wetherford will officiate. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-9 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
Jim was born February 17, 1921 in Fostoria, Michigan to the late Dewey and Wilda (Oliver) Woodrow. He married Betty "Janet" Smith on April 12, 1960 in Bristol, TN. Jim was a retired dairy farmer and truck driver. He was employed with Davis Cartage and Harmon Trucking, hauling for Pioneer Sugar. He had resided in Montrose since 1992 coming from the Millington and Otisville area. Jim was a master craftsman in woodworking, leaving many treasured heirlooms for his family and friends. He was also an avid fisherman and he enjoyed camping, yard work and spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Wife, Betty "Janet"; Children: Jeffrey Sr. (Pamela) Wetherford of Grand Blanc, Carol (Terry) Gustine of Lewiston, CA., Gary Hannah of Roanoke, IN., James K. (Debbie) Woodrow of Chino Valley, AZ., Julie O'Guinn of Montrose. 6 grandchildren: Jeffrey Jr. (Julie) Wetherford , Christopher (Melissa) Wetherford, Michelle (Cory) Williams, Ryan O'Guinn, Aaron O'Guinn and Sarah Woodrow. 7 great grandchildren. Sisters: Aileen (Ralph) Acre of Otter Lake, Helen (Donald) Alvord of Millington. Jim also leaves behind his beloved dog, Brandy.
