BROOKSHIRE, Raiford Lance - Of Swartz Creek, age 72, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,
Pastor Jon Gildner officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Church of the Nazarene (Missions) or Carriage Town Ministries.
Visitation 12-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Monday at the church until the time of the service.
Raiford was born in Flint on June 27, 1946, the son of Raiford E. and Letha M. (Church) Brookshire. On December 10, 1965, he married Judy Wiles in Flint, Michigan. Lance retired from General Motors after 35 years as a die maker. After retirement he fulfilled his love for vintage antique restoration and enjoyed over 20 years of vintage auto racing. Lance was an Indy car enthusiast since age 9, attending 63 Indy 500 races. Most importantly, Lance enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are wife, Judy;
children, Carla Brookshire, Doug Brookshire, Kendra (Kevin) Robinson, and Dennis (Tamara) Brookshire;
grandchildren, Saydee, Sebastian, Darynn, Braxxton, and Araydenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Rex.
