Je’Voniou Leigh Spottsville Johnson was born on December 30, 1976 in Flint, Michigan to the union of Wayne L. Spottsville (deceased) and Denise L. Franklin.
Je’Vonuiu (Jay) graduated from Flint Southwestern Academy. She received her Associates Degree in Business Administration and received a certificate in accounting in September 2010. She relocated to Cleveland, Ohio and began her work as a Housing Counselor for NID Housing under the supervision of the late Anita Fountain. In June 2014, she began her work with NID Pope (Lydia Pope) where she worked as an Assistant Branch Manager and later as a Property Manager at E & D Realty.
She met Marvin Johnson, Jr. in Chicago, Illinois June 26, 2009 at a roller-skating event, later falling in love, and on May 5, 2012, they were united as husband and wife. Throughout their marriage, they attended Cleveland Church of Christ.
On Sunday, September 20, 2020 Je’Voniou departed this life for a “New Beginning.” She is susrvived by her husband, Marvin Johnson, Jr., her two beautiful children: Christjhn J. McElwee and T’Keyah Lanay Matten; grandchildren: Jaiden Amir Miller and Jayce Christian Wells; her mother: Denise Franklin; brothers: Alan O. Patten, Danilo (Nilo) A. Franklin, Jr.,sister: Holly L. Spottsville; grandmother, Estelle Spottsville; he special Auntie, Marsha Jackson; uncle: Michael Spottsville, mother-in-law and father-in-law Marvin Sr., and Helen Johnson; brother-in-law, Tracy (Angela) Johnson; nieces: Brittany and Kellie Johnson, and great niece, London; special cousin Je’Voniou (whom she is named after) Hawkins and children; friends: Nadia Rivers, Mandy McCombs, Latrice Small, Ludie Smith, Angelique Jones “Special Sis,” Tonya Patten, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of co-workers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Spottsville; grandmother Marion Gary; grandfather Laylus Spottsville; grandfather James Patten; and a host of other family members. Her memories, her smiles, her voice her love for serving and helping people will forever reign in all of our hearts. She will forever be missed.
