VOHWINKLE, Evelyn M. – of Flint, age 82, passed away January 30, 2013 at Briarwood Manor. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI; Pastor Allen Sudmann officiating. Private burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-3 and 5-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, there will be visitation for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Evelyn was born in Flint on March 9, 1930, daughter of the late Lenroy and Dorothy (Green) Lawrence. Evelyn Lawrence married Bryce Vohwinkle on October 23, 1948. Evelyn was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a Girl Scout Leader.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bryce; children, Cindy (Joe) Paris, Cathy (Frank) Gray, Curt (Cindy) Vohwinkle and Chris (Jim) Campbell; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Len (Sandy) Lawrence of TN; many nieces, nephews, good friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ron.
