DAVIDSON, James C. “Gramps” - Of Burton, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd. Burton,
Reverend Chun and Pastor Billing officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
A Memorial Service will be conducted by the Grand Blanc Masonic Lodge at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Visitation 10am Saturday at church until the time of the service.
James was born in Jackson, Mississippi on April 7, 1927, the son of the late James and Sina (Biffle) Davidson and was a resident of Michigan for 66 years. On July 3, 1949, he married Syble Whittington and was married for 60 years before her passing in 2009. James served in the United States Navy for 13 months. He came to Michigan to work for General Motors at Fisher Body of Grand Blanc for a short time then he worked for Vogt Packing of Burton as head of Maintenance for 33 years. James was a Mason of Grand Blanc Masonic Temple and a member of Atherton Methodist Church in Burton and various Card Clubs. James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are children, Ginny Davidson of Fenton, Phyllis (Kenny) McCall of Millington, James Davidson of Burton, Kim (Brian) Lehr of Flint, and Kevin (Kelly) Davidson of Gladwin;
grandchildren, Shannon Premo of Owosso, Scott (Wendy) Premo of Millington, Jonathan (Sylvia) Davidson of Fenton, Matthew (Laura) Davidson of Waterford, Marcy (Vance) Palmer of Flint, and Alyssa Thayer of Grand Blanc;
great-grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Premo, Brandon Corbit, Gabriel, Chloe, Jacob Premo, Holden and Sophia Davidson, Riley, Taggert, Chandler and Graham Davidson, Jaxon and Maddie Palmer, Nevaeh and Shelby Jackson;
sister, Nell Milan and Mattie McNaughton;
brother, Van;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Terry L. Davidson, Paul Kent Davidson, brothers, Bill and Carl Davidson, sisters, Ruth Andrews, Bernice Dial and Vernon Medley.
