LOYNES, Lawrence Dee “Larry” - Of Flint, age 60, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation 11am-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Larry was born in Flint on February 14, 1956 the son of Ennes and Vlasta (Wondel) Loynes. On March 6, 1982, he married Tamara J. Kirchner in Flint. He was a Michigan State University graduate in Telecommunications. Larry was a local D.J. for many years. He was the host of "Race Talk Radio", and a track announcer at Auto City Speedway for over 20 years. Larry was a Sales and an On Air Personality at Town Square Media. He was an on air play by play announcer for Powers Catholic High School football and basketball. Larry was also a recipient of the Tom Carnegie Award along with many other media accomplishments.
Surviving are wife, Tamara;
children, Jennifer and husband Bret Peters of Grand Blanc, son, Brett Loynes of Flushing;
brother-in-law, Scott and wife Darby Kirchner of Georgia;
sister-in-law, Jody and husband William Blank of Harrisville;
nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Kirchner of Georgia, Jackson Kirchner of Georgia, Bella Kirchner of Georgia, Alexus Drabik of Lansing, and Eric Carter of Grand Blanc,
many cousins and a host of many special friends.
