CLARK, Gerald R. – of Montrose, age 80, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Friday, April 26, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Aaron Frey officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the direction of American Legion Post #367 of Montrose. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2PM until 8PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Gerald was born April 11, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late William and Leitha (Sweers) Clark. He attended Montrose High School. Gerald proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1960. He married Beverly Herrick on August 27, 1960 in Montrose. Gerald retired from General Motors in 1994 after 37 years of seniority and was a member of UAW Local #659. He was also a member of Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montrose. Gerald enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, reading and camping. He also enjoyed traveling the country and was able to visit 42 states. He loved his western movies, like Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Most of all, Gerald cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Beverly Clark; Children: Jill (Philip) Schaumburg, Richard Clark, Jane (Steven) Hippert, William (Carrie) Clark, and Jason Clark; Grandchildren: Jenny (Josh) Metzger, Justin (Melissa) Clark, Chris (Lindy) Clark, Casey Hippert, Alicia Hippert, Jake Stacey, Payton Clark, and Luke Clark; Great grandchildren: Leah Metzger, Caleb Metzger, Ella Clark, Macy Clark, Justin Clark, Jaxon Clark, and many nieces, nephews and dear family members. He was also preceded in death by: Brothers: Edward, Bruce, Rex, Bryce, Ernie and Harold; Sisters: Albertha, Viva, Gretchen, and Eileen.
