John C. Failing “Jack”, 80, died peacefully September 12th, 2013 at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc. Jack was born on November 11, 1932 in Flint, MI. He resided in Flint for most of his life. He’s known for running Northwest Bowl for many years, then working his retired years for Mr. Bosley and Hosliers Buick in Waterford. Jack was passionate about his summer sun and his garden, especially his tomatoes. He loved to travel and going to amusement parks with his grandchildren. Also, Jack loved to dance and could pick the winner of D.W.T.S. on the first night. His sense of humor and love for fun allowed people to enjoy his company. His stories were always entertaining. Jack leaves behind his 2 daughters, Laura Failing of New Zealand, and Elizabeth Failing Dill currently of Flint; his 3 grandchildren, John, Jessica, and Dakota; 3 great-grandsons, Peyton, Tatum, and Landon; and his beloved Pat, whom he was blessed to have had shared over 20 years with her enjoying their lives together as friends and partners. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Dupuis Failing, his sister Betty Kelly and his mother Mary Failing. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff and volunteers of Genesys Hospice Center in Goodrich. You allowed our father’s final days to be peaceful and respectful. Cremation has taken place and burial of the ashes will be planned at a later date.
