STOHON, Peter A. – of Prescott, MI, age 93, passed away December 27, 2017 at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-3 & 5-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM on Tuesday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boystown or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Peter was born in Cambria County, PA on January 4, 1924, son of the late Joseph and Julia (Zollna) Stohon. He married Catherine Marie Olsick on January 25, 1947 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Cambria County, PA. Peter retired from Central Grocery. He enjoyed deer hunting, playing horseshoes and going to the casino. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Peter is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Pete J. (Carol) Stohon and Susanne Chilner; daughter-in-law, Karen Stohon; nine grandchildren, John Paul (Marcy) Stohon, Jodi (Bob) Kietzman, Jenny (Jason) Dixon, Jacob Stohon, Donald Chilner, Luke Chilner, Mark Stohon, Peter M. Stohon and David Stohon; 20 great-grandchildren, Kristina (Mike) Hibbard, Angela (Mike) Powell, Gary Stohon, Olivia Stohon, Drew Stohon, Alex Stohon, Luke Chilner II, Aiden Chilner, Kyle Stohon, Jayden Stohon, Landon, Robert Kietzman, Andrew Kietzman, Kathryn Kietzman, Isaac Dixon, Isabella Dixon and Amanda Dixon. He was preceded in death by son, John Stohon and granddaughter, Jill Stohon.
