PHILLIPS, Harold F. - age 89, of Flint, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Cornerstone Baptist Church. Harold was born February 6, 1928 in Crimora, VA, the son of Frank and Estelle (Lane) Phillips. He married Joyce Ahrens on December 1, 1951 in Flint. Mr. Phillips retired form General Motors Truck and Bus in 1986 after 39 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local # 598 and Cornerstone Baptist Church where he was a greeter for 35 years. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and horseshoes. Surviving are: wife of 65 years, Joyce; two children, Brenda (Stuart) Auten of Flint and H. Scott Phillips of Grand Blanc; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Shoup, Patrick Bryant, Benjamin, Hannah and Jonathan Phillips, Ty (Andrea) Smith; and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
