WILKINSON, Harlan – of Davison, age 82, died suddenly at home August 4, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, August 8, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Harlan was born July 14, 1932 in Flint, MI, son of the late Charles and Hazel (Cooper) Wilkinson. He graduated with the Flint Central Class of 1950 and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952-1954. Harlan married the love of his life, Patricia Coulter in August of 1955 and was a Machinist at AC Spark Plug for 34 years, retiring in 1990. He was President of the Mt. Morris Jaycees and a proud member of the American Legion Honor Guard in Davison, his home for 45 years. Harlan was always excited to go hunting and spending summers with Pat at Brown’s Landing in Tawas. He enjoyed golfing and riding his golf cart, gardening, woodworking and he especially adored his grandchildren. Harlan was a loving father and grandfather. His legacy will be the example he set for his children and grandchildren by the way he lived his life. He showered them with his love and loyalty and he will be greatly missed by all.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Greg (Kathy) Wilkinson of Davison, Linda Briggs of Davison, Randy (Kathy) Wilkinson of Lapeer; grandchildren, Melissa and Jessica Miller, Alexis Wilkinson, Chris Briggs, Sara (Daniel) Ruiz, Tony (fiancé Kara Pope) Wilkinson, Alicia (Bruce) Calvin, Tara Holland; two great grandchildren, Kaylee Wilkinson and Kenzi Calvin and one on the way; brother, Doug (DeeLynn) Wilkinson of Fenton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck and Gene and grandson Brandon Holland.
