AURAND, Karen Sue - Of Grand Blanc, age 62, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 11am Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 S. Holly Road, Grand Blanc,
The Reverend Dr. Todd A. Biermann officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Visitation 4-6pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the service.
Karen was born in Flint on May 14, 1955, the daughter of Carl and Ernestine Hempel. Karen was an accounting clerk at McLaren Healthcare and McLaren Corporation for 24 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Karen loves to read all types of book, especially mysteries. She also enjoyed listening to music and working word puzzles. Karen attended plays at Stratford Festival of Canada. She also likes to travel and Tiger baseball
Surviving are husband, Gregory Aurand;
son, Matthew Aurand; parents, Carl and Ernestine Hempel; mother-in-law, Janet Aurand; brother, David Hempel; sister-in-law, Mari Hempel; brother, Carl Hempel II;
nieces Erin Turner (Perico) Turner and Elizabeth (Adam) Miteer.
