Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tributes Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mathew was born September 20, 1921 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent and Anna (Perdek) Gracz. He and Margaret Harshman were united in marriage September, 1941. She preceded him in death November 29, 1992. He spent 32 years for General Motors at Ternstedt. Mathew was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris and, in his free time, he enjoyed glass working, cross stitching, reading and traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are, four children, Norman and wife Linda Gracz, Judy and husband William Norman, Linda and husband Drew Thorsby, Denise and husband John Vincent, nine grandchildren, Shannon, Bill, Scott, Heidi, Yvette, Matt, Gary, Heather and Jason, and several great-grandchildren.
Mathew was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret and his brothers and sisters.
