LASSITER, Christine – of Davison, age 89, passed away August 15, 2015 at The Pines of Burton. A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Friday, August 21, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will 12-8 PM Thursday. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Christine was born in Newport, AK on October 22, 1925. She married Jack Lassiter on October 4, 1941 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2003. Christine started as a farmer in Arkansas before moving to Flint in the mid 1950’ for Jack to pursue working for Buick. She was a stay at home mother and raised her family. Christine then was a custodian for Kearsley Schools for 17 years.
Christine is survived by her children, Wilma (Jim) Ross, Judy Harman, Wade (Iris) Lassiter; grandchildren, Jack Lassiter, Tina (LeRoy) Jenkins, Tracey (Kevin) Coughlin, Kelly True, Sarah Lassister; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Tiffany, Whitney, Amber, April, Christine, Connie; great-great-granddaughter, Jacquelyn; daughter in law, Betty Lassiter. She was preceded in death by her son, Boyd, Larry in 2004. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Pines of Burton for their care and compassion over the last 18 months.
