Grab, Michael J. of Flushing, age 86, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. A private interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery will take place at a later date. The family encourages reflection of fond memories of Mike.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on March 21, 1930, the son of Michael and Mary (Hritz) Grab. He married Eileen Pettit in Angola, Indiana, on June 19, 1954. Eileen preceded him in death on September 7, 2015. Michael was a Korean War Veteran. He was a Machine Repairman at General Motors and retired in 1989 after 40 years of service. Michael was an avid gardener, camper and fisherman, he also loved tinkering on machines.
Michael is survived by son, Tim and wife Jane Hardy of Gaines; daughter, Cindy and husband Kenny McDaniel of Flushing; son, Michael Grab of Flushing; son, Gary and wife Jeannie Grab of Bonneau Beach, S.C.; daughter, Marcia Grab of Summerville, S.C.; beloved pet dog, Sadie; nine grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; precious sister, Liz and husband Jack Steco of Flint; brother, Paul and wife Nancy Grab of Howell; brother, Ed and wife Karen Grab of Howell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Eileen; sisters, Theresa Grab and Catherine Scherbovich. |
