SUMMERFIELD, Douglas – Of Flushing, formerly of Owosso, age 86, died Friday, July 19, 2019 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Summerfield officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Douglas was born in Flint, Michigan on January 26, 1933, the son of the late William and Mildred (White) Summerfield.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Owosso.
Surviving are children, Pamela (Duane) Lampson of Swartz Creek, Carl (Lauri) Summerfield of Flushing and Mary Hopkins of Grand Blanc;
daughter-in-law, Shelly Lewis of Flushing; son-in-law, Scott Rheaume of Owosso;
grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenni (Dale), Aaron (Jessica), Matthew, Joshua (Ashley), Lisa (Nick), Andrea, Roger, Haley, Kelsey, Zackary and Allison (Andy);
13 great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Michael; daughter, Paula; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
