DAVIS, Henry J. (Harry) - Of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Flint,
Father David Harvey officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elf Khurafeh Shriners.
Harry was born in Wilksboro, Pennsylvania on September 27, 1924. Harry lived a very full life; was a Genesee County business owner; was active in many service organizations; and a beloved “Pop-Pop”. Harry served in World War II with the Army Air Corps. He was a 5th Degree Mason; Member of the Shriners (former President of Fenton Shrine) 3rd Degree in Knights of Columbus; Life Member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #222; former President and member of Lakewood (Florida) Condominium association; former President and Governor in the National Electrical Contractors Association; former member of The Flint Golf Club; and Eucharistic Minister and member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Harry owned and operated the Genesee Electric Company for many years.
Harry had three daughters with his first wife, Jean; Carol (John) Rimmer; Cindy (Joseph) Johnson; and Leah Glover, who preceded Harry in death. After Jean’s death, Harry married Marion (Brown) in 1980.
In addition to his wife and daughters, Harry leaves 2 step-children Thomas “Bill” (Deanne) Brown of Houston, Texas and Diane (Gary) Rice of Fenton, MI. Also Harry leaves 10 grandchildren; Christie Brown, Matthew Brown, Patrick Sheahan, Michael Sheahan, Weston Rimmer, Jason Rimmer, Jessie Rimmer Robert Glover, Mark Glover, Ryan Davis and several great-grandchildren.
Harry leaves 3 sisters, Dorothy Bloom, Rosie Stough, Kate (Ron) Guibeck and 1 brother; Jim Davis (Carol), Harry’s brother, William Davis preceded him in death.
