Keeler, Earnest C. Sr. of Flushing, age 80, died, Sunday, October 14, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Bate will officiate. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Earnest was born in Flint, Michigan on September 9, 1938, the son of Charles and Marian (Smith) Keeler. He married Judith Birdsall on May 31, 1958, in Genesee. Earnest worked as manager for Dawn Donuts for 35 years. He was a longtime member of the Flushing Moose Lodge where he enjoyed his friendships of the Euchre Club. Earnest was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Tigers and U of M and he enjoyed both water and snow skiing. He took great pride in maintaining his yard. He instilled a hard work ethic in his children and was always active in their lives.
Earnest is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith; six children, Earnest C. Keeler, Jr., Rick and wife Cathy Keeler, Bill Keeler, Pam and husband Tony Osgood, Steve and wife Melody Keeler, Debbie Day; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Bob and wife Selma Clemens; and sister, Becky and husband Tim Cochran. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
