SCHAEFFER, Sandra – of Davison, age 71, passed away July 8, 2016 at Pines of Burton. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. A Memorial Gathering will be 2-7 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Friday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sandra was born in Flint, MI on January 30, 1945, daughter of the late Frank and Kathryn (Haley) VanHouten. She married Paul Schaeffer on May 17, 1967. Sandra graduated from St. Agnes Catholic School in 1963 and enjoyed getting together with her classmates in recent years. She loved fishing with her husband and spending time with her family. Sandra volunteered at Holy Redeemer Church and School. She was an LPN Pediatric Nurse at FOH and a bookkeeper for EDM Wire Tek.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, Tim (Stephaine), Rusty (Angela); daughter-in-law, Cindy Stewart; four grandchildren, Rowdy (Samantha), Chase, Stormy, Clara; three brothers, Robert (Evelyn) VanHouten, Joseph (Dalene) VanHouten, Daniel (Jeanne) VanHouten. She was preceded in death by her son Paul; granddaughter, Dakota Ann.
