BERLANGA, Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" - Age 68, of Flint, died Thursday, April 17, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2316 W. Coldwater Rd, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint Wednesday from 5-9 PM and at church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Lupe was born June 4, 1945 in Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Roman Correa and Maria de la Paz Serrano. She married Paul Berlanga January 16, 1974 in Yuma, AZ. She had resided in Flint for the past 41 years coming from Zacatecas, Mexico. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Lupe enjoyed singing, music, shopping, dancing, and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Paul; 3 children, Violeta Berlanga of Flint, Jesus Berlanga of Flint, and Elizabeth Berlanga of St. Petersburg, FL; 6 step daughters, Rose (Dallas) Washburn of Mt. Morris, Patricia Berlanga of Florida, Linda Berlanga of Tennessee, Debra (Dan) Williamson of Durand, Katherine Irish of Bridgeport, Inez (Jim) Schmidt of Shields; 4 grandchildren and 9 step grandchildren; 2 sisters, Teresa Reyes of New Mexico and Vitalina Romero of California; 3 brothers, Ramiro, Luzmilo, and Jesus Correa all of California; and several nieces and nephews.
