Pierce, David A. of Flushing, age 72, died Saturday, November 16, 2019, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Trinity Baptist Church, Flushing. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
Dave was born in Traverse City on July 25, 1947, the son of Leonard and Viola (Margetson) Pierce. He married Betty Jo Hubbard on July 30, 1966. Dave worked for 42 years at General Motors in Grand Blanc and was a General Supervisor. He was a man's man, building his home with his own two hands and also enjoyed working on his children’s homes. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a love of Corvettes. Dave was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed his Wednesday breakfast gatherings with fellow retirees. He liked camping and the outdoors, but his greatest joy was being active in the lives and activities of his grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jo; children, Wendy Sue and husband Jim Foster, David Jr. and wife Allison Pierce, Brett and wife Melinda Pierce, Cassie May and husband Kendall Carpenter; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Carl and wife Micki Pierce; and sister, Elaine and husband Gary Langdon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
