Whitmire, Donald A. "K8NOZ" – of Montrose, age 89, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at McLaren – Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Montrose United Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Bennett Styles officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Friday from 1-9 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose United Methodist Church – Bell Choir or the Montrose Historical Museum.
Don was born September 22, 1924 in Flint to the late Earle and Bertha (Miller) Whitmire. He married Arline Flesher on August 21, 1951. Don was also an active ham operator.
Surviving are: Wife, Arline; Son, Donald "Gene" and wife Tami Whitmire of Montrose. 2 grandchildren: Donald "Jasun" and wife Tara Whitmire, Katlin and boyfriend Billy Stiles. 2 great grandchildren: Brynn and Paige.
