KNISPEL, Richard L. – of Clio, age 74, devoted father and husband, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Genesys of Grand Blanc.Funeral services will be will be held at 1PM Monday, May 22, 2017 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Fr. John Cotter officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2PM until 8PM and Monday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM.
Richard was born August 22, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to the late Richard A. Knispel and Marguerite (LaBombard) Gillette. He married Deanna Krebs April 12, 1996 in Fort Myers, Florida. Richard owned his own business, "Dick's Tree Service". He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Richard enjoyed reading, auctions, garage sales, and was quite the barterer. Above all, Richard loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Wife, Deanna Knispel of Clio; Children: Kim Filek of Clio, Kathy Knispel-Whalen of Oscoda, Karen Knispel-Maciejewski of Humble, TX, Rob Knispel of Indianapolis, IN, Traci (John) Keigans of Raleigh, NC, Lisa Knispel of Auburn Hills, Joseph (Denise) Taylor of Montrose, and Randy (Kris) Taylor of Clio; Many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Siblings: Linda (Ken) Sprague, Bobby (Cindy) Knispel, Sonja (Ken) Sies, Mary (Barry) Brown, Bill (Lynn) Gillette, and Donna (Keith) Gordon; Brothers in law: Larry Streeter, and Bill Bennett; Many other loving family members and friends. Richard was also preceded in death by his son, Rick Knispel; Daughters: Kerrie Knispel, and Jaleen Knispel; Son in law, Jeff Filek; Sisters: Bev Streeter, and Beth Bennett; Brother, Tony Gillette; Step- mother, Ruth Knispel; Step-father, Arba Gillette.
