DUTHORN, Marilyn Louise - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2019.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 S. Holly Road, Grand Blanc.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Faith Lutheran Church.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Saturday, March 16, 2019 at church until the time of the service.
Marilyn was born in Crandon, Wisconsin on December 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Emery and Minnie (Smith) Lutterman and the youngest of 6 children. On June 11, 1955, she married LeRoy DuThorn in Huntsville, Alabama. Marilyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and art shows.
Marilyn loved to send special cards and making crafts to give to those whom she loved.
Marilyn enjoyed bowling and target shooting, to which she attained marksman status. Marilyn also hosted Bridge parties and did Body Recall at the senior center. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her pies and German sweet potato salad.
She was a loving mother and dedicated grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn radiated love for her family and friends, and kept a deep faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, LeRoy of 63 years;
children, Susan (Jim) Putnam, Randall DuThorn, Scott DuThorn (Cynthia Goforth), Paul (Candida) DuThorn, and Thomas (Theresa) DuThorn;
grandchildren, Christopher Putnam (Marissa Lizza), Michael (Lindsey) Putnam, Rachael (Jordan) Cushman, Chelsea DuThorn, Ashlyn DuThorn, Tony Freund (Renee), Megan DuThorn (Jake Rebel), Austin DuThorn;
great-grandchildren, Emilia and Cameron Putnam, Jackson, Kennedy and Lincoln Cushman, Maxx Mayencourt, and Johnny Hall-DuThorn;
siblings, Jeanette Van Dorn;
sister-in-law, Rosalie Lutterman;
many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Steven Putnam, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
