Michael “Mike” William Beal of Grand Blanc passed away on April 10, 2024, aged 75. He was born January 1, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Oza (Brown) Beal. Mike spent most of his life living in and around Flint, MI.
Mike was a proud and loving son, brother, father and grandfather. Mike was the eldest of four boys and enjoyed his role as the “leader of the pack” – whether it was building a tree house or finding mischief to get into, Mike showed them the way! Mike traveled often to Colorado to visit Adam and was always up for an adventure, whether it was enjoying the rapids of the Colorado River or searching out the best margarita in the Roaring Fork Valley! More recently, Mike would participate in the lives of his grandchildren – watching them play hockey brought him great joy. Courtney was the apple of her father’s eye. Spending time talking, watching sports, and celebrating holidays was what meant the most to Mike. Mike and Courtney share a great smile, contagious laugh, sense of humor, and a love of Red Wings Hockey!
Mike had a big personality and a big heart. He was a die-hard Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, Lions and U of M Football fan. Mike had little need for material pleasures and instead placed great value on supporting Flint-area charities that served underprivileged children and mothers.
Mike was a lifelong commercial architect and construction project manager. Most recently, he enjoyed his role as President of the Timber Ridge Condominium Association. Mike was a hard worker that put his heart into everything. One of his proudest professional accomplishments was the design and construction management of a beautiful building at 111 S. Leroy St. in downtown Fenton.
Surviving Mike are his son Adam Beal (Stephanie Jensen), daughter Courtney Beal, grandson Linden Beal, granddaughter Arlyn Beal, brother C. Patrick Beal, brother Dan Beal (Gail Beal), and sister Diana Reynolds (Paul).
Mike was preceded in death by his father Charles Beal, mother Oza Beal, and brother Arlyn (“Arlie”) Beal.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mike’s friend Dennis Eva for his unwavering support in Mike’s greatest times of need – we don’t know what we would have done without you. And to Rosie Ferguson and Shannon Townsend – from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, friendship and countless meals over the years.
